ADVOCATING FOR BODY ACCEPTANCE, BODY DIVERSITY AWARENESS, FAT LIBERATION, AGING IN POWER, HEALING FROM EATING DISORDER/DISORDERED EATING,
FOOD CURIOSITY, MOVEMENT/STILLNESS

As a Certified Body Trust® Specialist, Accessible Yoga™ teacher, RYT-200 yoga teacher, and non-diet, non-dogma nutritionist, I am in practice working with individuals and groups. I am also the Program Coordinator at Center for Body Trust, working closely with founders and mentors Dana Sturtevant and Hilary Kinavey. My work is guided by the Body Trust® framework through a social/racial justice and intersectional feminist lens. My practice is fat positive, weight inclusive, and LGBTQ+ spectrum affirming. As an eating disorder and compulsive exercise survivor, my work is centered in the tenets of relational cultural theory and I hold space for clients of all ages with compassion, empathy, and humor. I live and work in California and virtually all over the damn place.

As a longtime member/rabble-rouser of the Body Trust community, I am now offering one-on-one coaching sessions for individuals wishing to explore healing their relationship with their body, food/eating, and/or movement. Whether you’re looking to do personal healing work or continue a conversation around professional work, I am excited to provide services through the Center for Body Trust and can’t wait to welcome clients, no matter where they are on their healing path.

A few facts about me

Picture of Meg Bradbury

I am an extroverted introvert who loves fostering close-knit community.

Pumpkin pie, meatloaf sandwich, and hot AF pour-over coffee, in that order, is my dream meal.

Toxic wellness culture and healthism are my specialty rants and I get loud and mouthy about them. Orthorexia was by far my most diabolical and damaging ED, and it’s everywhere, all the time.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, better than laughing.

Being in my sixties has been a wild ride so far, in both ecstatic and complicated ways.

My story

I’ve been rebellious as far back as I can remember. As a kid raised by emotionally distant parents prone to body shaming, I found comfort in controlling food and my body for many years and in many different ways. Early in my late-in-life healing process, I discovered Dana, Hilary, and what is now called Center for Body Trust via an early video of Dana ranting and swearing about something or other. I was immediately hooked. These are my people! I thought. And so many years, tears, adventures, conversations, laughs, meals, eye rolls, and hashtags later, here we are. And here you are!

I’m a sixty-something, gender-something, quiet-ish smart ass who loves getting older, having friends for dinner, the Angeles National Forest, blasting music in my car, taking very hot baths, constructing odd sandwiches, gossiping and laughing with my daughter and sister, walking with my darling old stink dog, and being grateful for my gift, honed by Body Trust training, of seeing and welcoming clients–you?–exactly where you are.
