TWO-DAY IN-PERSON MEET-UP + WORKSHOP
September 27-28, 2024 in Portland, Oregon
The Breathe Building @ 2305 SE 50th Avenue

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW:
SOCIAL HOUR: Friday, 9/27 from 5:00-7:30 p.m.
Casual social time to connect, get to know each other, and begin to build affinity groups. Snacks and beverages will be provided. There is also a restaurant in the building (Rangoon Bistro) and several food carts across the street (lots of food options). We’ll have giveaways and fat positive vendors coming to sell their merchandise.
WORKSHOP: Saturday, 9/28 from 12:15-6:00 p.m.
Community learning day. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Topics will include Body Trust in the Age of Ozempic (& GLP-1s), + more. Sirius will lead a facilitated conversation and group skill-share focusing on relationships — friendships, sex, love, dating, and self-love — all within the context of Body Trust. Hilary and Dana will talk about Francis Weller’s Gates of Grief in healing and hold a grief ceremony. You’ll also have a chance to experience some activities we do in Body Trust retreats and workshops that you can bring into your practice. CEUs approved: 4 from NASW, 5.5 from CDR.
LOOKING FOR TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS? Check out our visitor guide here. We also have a list of local community members who volunteered to host out-of-towners and/or provide transportation (email us to request this list).
ACCESSIBILITY: The Breathe Building is a newly renovated space that meets current standards for ADA accessibility. No steps are required to enter the building or the space where we will be meeting. We will have a variety of seating options. The front courtyard has bench seating as well as some tables and chairs. There is one handicap parking space in front of the building, and street parking is available.
Center for Body Trust is committed to making our work as accessible as possible for everyone, as access-centered exchange of information benefits all of us, not just people with disabilities and audio/visual impairments. All participants will have an opportunity to make additional accessibility requests after they’ve registered.
COVID PRECAUTIONS & INFO: The health and well-being of our community is a priority. This will be a masked event. We will have protocols in place for those who wish to adhere to social distancing. Here are some additional safety precautions at our gathering space:
- We disinfect tables and touchpoints in our shared spaces.
- Hand sanitizer will be available.
- The studio is outfitted with a powerful HVAC system that circulates air from outdoors.
- There are windows and a patio door that can be opened for additional air circulation.
- Mask Policy: We believe masks create more options for access and participation, so attendees will be asked to mask up outside of eating and drinking. Disposable masks will be provided.
Also, please be considerate and stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any kind. Thank you, in advance, for respecting our covid precautions and mask policy.
A NOTE ABOUT FRAGRANCE-FREE EVENTS: Our in-person events are fragrance-free. We ask attendees to refrain from wearing any of the following during our time together: perfume/cologne, perfumed oils/lotions, fragranced hair products, and/or similar products. Our chemically-sensitive community members thank you.
